Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Yikes! 

I think my Christmas list was just misplaced and a new one was written. How we all loved and obsessed over the Urban Decay Naked Palette and now a second one! Urban Decay Naked Palette (Original)

Pictures were posted online on a couple of beauty blogs and forums but I was quite skeptical for the fact of the picture having a girl's silhouette in the mirror of the palette. I just wanted to let everyone know, if you didn't already, that you can jump on the bandwagon with me and await the arrival!

 The Urban Decay Naked Palette is my daily go-to for my eye shadow looks. I am hoping for the new palette to offer more matte colors. I am extremely excited and can't wait to see what they have come up with! Santa Baby, I know you've got one of those in your sack of gifts with my name on it.

Cheap & Effective Skin Treatment

I suffer from all three nightmares and I know I'm not alone. For the past year I have been using a product called Vitacilina. This product is made in Mexico and it contains Neomycin Sulfate and Retin-A. What are those, you ask? Neomycin Sulfate is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin. Retin-A is used to treat acne and also is said to have anti-aging effects by helping the skin retain collagen.

Every night I apply a half pea-sized amount to each of the following areas of my face. 

My two cheeks.

My chin.

And my lips.

I take about 30 seconds on each area and rub gently to work the product into my skin.

My lips are soft and moveable in the morning. 

My pimple(s) are reduced in size or even dried up. 

 My acne scars have faded greatly from using for a period of time. 

Vitacilina can be found in the US at your local drugstores.

TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo = Fail

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I am so disappointed in this product. 

Allow me to convince you and save you five dollars and the hassle.

My top three reasons why I will never put this product in my hair again:

Reason #1: 

This dry shampoo leaves a clay-like texture on your scalp that ends up weighing down your hair. I swear I felt like I had a bad case of lice! I was itching my head like a monkey searching for bugs.

Reason #2:

 After waiting for it to dry and do it's duty, you go on and brush through your hair. White/grey powder flakes are visible and difficult to disguise and rid.

Reason #3:

 I end up wanting to wash my hair immediately after applied because my hair feels more like a grease ball than before I had sprayed it.

On a postive note:

 It smells nice.

What I expected:

 Nice, bouncy, voluminous, fresh start, clean hair.

What Tresemme expected:

Clinique Sun Body Cream

Last weekend we ventured off on a mini day trip to La Paz, Mexico. Jet Skiing, swimming, and sun bathing with an icy piña colada is perfection. In fact, I was so happy to have had the chance to try out my new sun cream that I had bought there. Truth is, days when I buy beauty/skin care products always end up being good days. *Wink. I purchased the Clinique Sun SPF 50 Body Cream. I was a little discouraged because the lady at the counter wouldn't let me test anything before it was purchased. *Thought "What kind of department store is this?" Now here is my opinion on the product. First, a couple photos to get a visual for my thoughts.







Price > $21.00
Packaging > Very clean and simple. Sunshine yellow squeeze tube with plastic pop top.
Amount > 5 oz of Sun Cream
Product > White creamy lotion. No scent. Non- greasy. Dries to a matte finish within 2 minutes.

Does it really do justice?
I believe it does. I love that it feels fresh and matte on the skin and not greasy. One thing I cannot stand is greasy, smelly, and thick sun cream. I would also feel comfortable applying this on the face for that fact. With my experience, it protected me from the sun for over 4 hours and was then reapplied after I had been swimming in the water. No sun burn here just happy skin.

..... I know that we have hit fall and in some places it pours down rain and no sunshine in sight. But it is always important to protect our skin rain or shine. With that I'll leave you with my delicious piña colada. Salud.

Staple Products of September

In August I had purchased many new beauty products that I was dying to try and by some sort of luck(my addiction to reading product reviews) I am pleased with each purchase. I am sharing seven products that have been my everyday staples.

1. Naked Palette by Urban Decay:

 I reach for this eyeshadow palette every day. I can go from a Neutral Nancy look during the daytime to a Smokey Sandra for a hot date night out. The eyeshadows are so pigmented and I love the fact that you have the option of glitters or mattes.

2. Revlon PhotoReady Concealer in 002 Light:

 On days when I don't feel like wearing a face full of makeup I seek out this BadBoy to cover my blemishes and clean up my under eye area. It is very creamy when applied and dries to a nice matte finish. It stays on throughout the day(hot sweaty weather) and I really love that it applies how a lip stick would. No brush needed.

3. Maybelline Fitme Foundation in 120 Classic Ivory:

 I always apply this with a clean wet sponge and blend on my face. It leaves a dewy finish to the skin and is build-able. I do like the scent(fresh) it has and my skin looks healthy and non-cakey after one application. It blends beautifully and matches the skin tone. In the swatch it seems very fruity orange! But trust me! It will not be that color when blended into the skin.

4. Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub in Coconut Lime:

 My skin loves me after I use this product. Dead and flaky skin adios! The smell is divine. I apply this before I shave my legs so I can get rid of all that nasty stuff and have a good soft surface to start. My skin literally feels like my 3 year old niece's skin afterwards. Soft and smelling like a tropical drink. The amazing thing about Tree Hut products is that they can be found at Ross for $2.99-$7.99. Deals!

5. Elf Powder Brush:

 Black, sleek, and dense. I use this brush to press on a light layer of powder after my foundation. This brush it only $3 at Target or online. I have not found it to shed and I really love the look(classy) of it. I have read and heard others saying they love it for applying foundation. How can you beat that price for such a durable brush to have in your makeup bag?

6. NYX Jumbo Pencil in Yogurt:

 Creamy, soft coral/pink/rose-gold shimmer crayola crayon for your face. I like to apply it on my eyelids and blend it out with my fingers. This color could suit all skin tones very nicely. Using this product by itself really makes my eye color pop. Staying power and creasing power are good when applied over an eye shadow primer.

7. Wet n Wild Blusher in 831E Pearlescent Pink:

 I think this is pretty close to be a dupe for Super Orgasm blush by NARS but with less glitter and at a fraction of the cost. Pinky/Coral color for a fresh, young flush on the apples of your cheeks. Pigmented for sure. One sweep could cover both cheeks with how far this product goes.

Dinner Date

Tonight we are headed out for dinner somewhere unknown at the moment. The temperature is 88 degrees... how do I survive? :) Didn't want to get fancied up with the face so I went with casual makeup and somewhat played up my eyes with a black winged eyeliner and a few coats of mascara. I am hoping to eat sushi and sip my drink of choice.. MOJITO. Yum.
